Stack Auth is an open-source authentication and user-management platform designed for developers who need secure, scalable identity features without vendor lock-in. At its core, it provides a REST API and a client/server toolkit to build authentication flows, user provisioning, and permission management. It supports organizations and teams, with granular RBAC and roles, as well as third-party OAuth connections to services like Gmail and OneDrive. The UI can be used as a complete front-end or integrated with headless UX using shadcn/ui components. There is no JWT configuration required; Stack Auth handles token issuance and rotation behind the scenes. Webhooks enable real-time syncing with external systems.
