As a Senior Client Platform Engineer, you’ll manage and optimize Ramp’s fleet of 1300+ employee devices (95% macOS, 5% Windows), ensuring a seamless, secure, and frictionless computing experience. Leveraging modern endpoint management tools, thoughtful automation, and forward-looking technologies (including AI), your focus will be to eliminate device-related friction, empowering both employees and your IT peers to concentrate on impactful, strategic work.
What You’ll Do
Design, implement, and maintain endpoint management practices for Ramp’s rapidly growing fleet of macOS (primary) and Windows devices.
Automate device provisioning, software deployment, patch management, and lifecycle operations to significantly reduce manual overhead.
Collaborate closely with Corporate Security to enforce endpoint security standards and compliance while preserving an exceptional user experience.
Continuously improve endpoint user experiences by optimizing configurations, streamlining self-service solutions, and incorporating user feedback.
Evaluate emerging tools and technologies, advocating for solutions that advance Ramp’s productivity, scalability, and security goals.
Provide clear documentation and training resources to empower IT Support and end-users in effective, independent device management.
What You Need
3+ years of experience as a Client Platform Engineer, managing macOS endpoints at scale with some familiarity managing Windows devices.
Expert-level proficiency in macOS administration, configuration, and troubleshooting in a corporate environment.
Hands-on experience deploying and managing devices using modern endpoint management solutions (e.g., Jamf, Kandji, Munki, Intune).
Ability to use scripting in Bash/shell plus one other language (Python, Swift) to automate endpoint configuration tasks.
Knowledge of endpoint security best practices including disk encryption, EDR, OS security policies, and compliance frameworks (SOC2, CIS, NIST, FedRAMP).
Demonstrated success creating frictionless endpoint management processes with an emphasis on exceptional employee experience.
Excellent communication and documentation skills, especially regarding device standards, processes, and troubleshooting resources.
Curiosity and adaptability toward exploring new endpoint technologies and innovative approaches to device management.
