Manager Strategic Growth Initiatives, Authentication Operations
The Team

eBay is re-imaginging the future of e-commerce - building a trusted marketplace. The Authenticity Guarantee (AG) team is a core component of this vision, ensuring buyers and sellers can shop with confidence. With innovative and exciting initiatives, the Authentication Guarantee Operations team is a fast-paced and passion-filled team to be a part of. This team has successfully launched watches, handbags, sneakers, trading cards, and apparel authentication in the US, UK, Germany, Canada, Australia, and Japan in a few quick years.

The Manager Strategic Growth Initiatives will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering key growth initiatives for Authentication Operations. You will partner across operations, focus categories, product to define Authenticity Guarantee’s expansion and monetization strategy. As a trusted cross-functional partner, you will provide qualitative and quantitative insights to enable clear decision-making and deliver streamlined implementation, often without formal authority. 

Success in this role requires outstanding collaboration, strong strategy mindset, and the ability to influence without formal authority.

The Job

  • Support the development of expansion and monetization strategies ensuring they are clearly differentiated, scalable, and financially sound

  • Lead market research and analysis to identify industry trends, innovations, opportunities, and threats

  • Lead strategic analysis and decision support for the Sr. Manager Strategy & ops, delivering clear recommendations grounded in data and market insights

  • Own end-to-end analysis for priority growth initiatives, including opportunity sizing, qualitative assessment, financial modelling, resource planning, and feasibility assessment; translating insights into actionable trade-offs

  • Evaluate potential future partners and technologies in support of expansion

  • Build and own executive-ready presentations

  • Partner closely with cross-functional execution teams to ensure initiatives are delivered with impact, merging strategic ambition with operational feasibility

Qualifications

  • 6+ years relevant experience with at least 3+ years at a top-tier management consulting firm or strategy

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required

  • Ability to break-down ambiguous problem into structured analysis and come up with recommendations

  • Outstanding analytical and quantitative abilities combined with the capability to make well-informed decisions in unclear situations.

  • Able to move seamlessly between 3,000 feet strategy and hands-on execution

  • Proven experience scaling and orchestrating cross-functional initiatives in complex, global organizations

  • Strong synthesis and communication skills to craft compelling stories for diverse audiences, including senior leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and align senior collaborators without direct authority

  • Self starter who can operate with a high degree of autonomy

Additional Details

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

C$121,200 - C$161,800

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including RRSP eligibility, various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
