We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Communications Manager to lead our corporate communications efforts. The Senior Communications Manager will develop and execute communication strategies to enhance HackerOne's brand reputation, engage stakeholders, and support business objectives. The ideal candidate combines traditional and modern communications expertise, including using AI tools to improve content creation, media engagement, and strategic planning.

We are seeking candidates located in Seattle, WA; San Francisco Bay Area; Austin, TX; or Washington, DC; and the surrounding metropolitan areas to facilitate occasional in-person interactions as needed. While the position is primarily remote, there will be periodic in-person requirements to support team collaboration and foster stronger connections. This approach ensures flexibility while providing opportunities to build meaningful in-person relationships that strengthen our team and company culture.
What You Will Do
Develop and implement comprehensive corporate communication strategies to support HackerOne's brand positioning and business goals.
Manage external communication channels, including press releases, blog posts, social media, and thought leadership content.
Cultivate relationships with key media outlets, influencers, and industry stakeholders to secure media coverage and speaking opportunities.
Oversee crisis communication efforts, including preparing messaging, coordinating response activities, and managing media inquiries.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, sales, and legal, to ensure consistent messaging and brand voice.
Support executive communication initiatives, including speech writing, presentation development, and media training.
Manage the relationship with our PR agency, providing strategic direction, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring alignment with company goals.
Measure and report on the effectiveness of communication initiatives, including media coverage, social media engagement, and brand sentiment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field.
Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and communicate complex ideas effectively.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute communication plans aligned with business objectives.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with AI-powered communications tools—particularly Jasper AI—for content creation, summarization, and personalization.
Extensive media relations experience, with a deep network of media contacts and proven success in securing media coverage.
Knowledge of cybersecurity or technology industry trends and issues is a plus.
