About the team and the role:

We’re hiring a Producer to manage and support the production function for eBay Live Canada. This is an owner/operator role — you’ll run day-to-day production operations, own the production playbooks and standards for Canadian programming, and partner closely with the Programming Manager to scale production across categories and tentpole events. You’ll be hands-on producing shows, improving processes, mentoring partners, and ensuring every stream meets our quality, timing, and engagement goals.

This role is ideal for someone who loves live content, can manage fast-moving event logistics, and is excited to build repeatable production playbooks while supporting cross-functional partners and sellers.

What you will accomplish:

  • Own the Production function for eBay Live Canada: run daily production operations and be accountable for show readiness and execution quality.

  • Lead end-to-end production for Tier 1–3 events: build run-of-show (ROS), coordinate rehearsals, confirm technical and creative assets, and direct live broadcasts.

  • Support the Programming Manager by translating category and marketing priorities into production plans, and serve as the day-to-day owner for production readiness and execution and playbook maintenance.

  • Build and maintain production playbooks, templates, and runbooks to scale consistent, high-quality programming.

  • Drive pre-production and post-production workflows: asset ingestion, metadata accuracy, rehearsal scheduling, post-show debriefs and performance recaps.

  • Troubleshoot live technical and operational issues in real time (asset display, stream timing, transitions), partnering with Live Ops to advance quickly.

  • Coach and onboard sellers, hosts and internal partners on production standard processes and on-air storytelling techniques.

  • Track production health and deliverables—maintain trackers/calendars and ensure on-time completion of prep achievements.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Category, Marketing, Analytics and Live Ops to ensure every event aligns to business and creative goals.

  • Identify and implement improvements to reduce risk and shorten turnaround times for event production.

What you will bring:

  • 3+ years’ experience in live production, event management, broadcast or digital content production (or equivalent).

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience producing and/or directing live events or streaming content.

  • Comfort with run-of-show planning, rehearsals, asset management and live troubleshooting. Familiarity with streaming tooling (OBS, broadcast workflows, or equivalent).

  • Strong operational rigor and attention to detail; able to manage a mix of recurring live shows, occasional on-site productions, and shifting priorities across the production calendar.

  • Excellent communicator who can influence cross-functional partners and coach sellers/hosts.

  • Data-informed and process minded — able to document playbooks and turn takeaways into repeatable workflows.

  • Bias for ownership and ability to work autonomously in a distributed team.

  • Regular travel across Canada and the U.S. to support onsite production and tentpole events; occasional overnight travel may be required.

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support live events, rehearsals, and on-site production schedules.

  • Experience in e-commerce, retail tech, or influencer/live commerce is a strong plus.

Location:

Hybrid — Toronto, Canada. Travel to US & Canada required for on-site production support and offsites.
