Associate Manager, Accounting
Oversee accounting for designated process areas, with a focus on COGS, accruals and prepaid expenses, ensure accurate and timely financial records and compliance with accounting standards, while also managing and mentoring a team of two.
As the Associate Accounting Manager, you'll oversee accounting for designated process areas, with a focus on COGS, accruals and prepaid expenses. You'll ensure accurate and timely financial records and compliance with accounting standards, while also managing and mentoring a team of two. You will provide leadership and support in the coordination of the company’s financial accounting, reporting and analysis processes.
What you will contribute:
General Ledger Management:
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness and proper documentation of transactions
- Supervise and review journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting processes
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Continuously assess and improve accounting processes with a focus on ensuring accuracy and accelerating the month-end close process
- Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of two, providing guidance and support
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor performance
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Maintain adherence to all applicable SOX controls
- Support internal and external audits
Other Duties:
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Accounting
- Active CPA license, or equivalent, preferred
- 5-7 years of relevant experience, including 1-2 years of managerial experience
- Public accounting, public company and/or software industry experience preferred
- Experience with COGS accounting, accruals and prepaid expenses preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Experience with financial systems, such as Oracle or Workday
