Technical Product Manager: Storefront & PIM - Contract
Job Summary:
Ruggable is looking for a hands-on Technical Product Manager to join our Digital Product team on a 6-month contract. You'll embed directly into our Storefront team, owning delivery across two critical workstreams: keeping our eCommerce storefront running smoothly and leading the implementation of a new Product Information Management (PIM) system. This is an IC role - you'll write the requirements, own the roadmap, and get your hands dirty in the tools.
What You'll Do:
- Support day-to-day product delivery for our Shopify-based headless storefronts across multiple international markets (US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Australia)
- Drive end-to-end implementation of a new PIM system, from requirements through go-live - including data migration, integration with Shopify and downstream systems, and stakeholder alignment
- Write detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in partnership with Engineering and the eCommerce business team
- Participate in sprint ceremonies, backlog grooming, and delivery milestones
- Identify and escalate risks proactively; keep all cross-functional stakeholders aligned
- Get hands-on in Shopify and the PIM platform - this is not a role for someone who delegates the details
What You'll Need to Have:
Required:
- 4+ years of technical product management experience, ideally in eCommerce or DTC
- Proven experience implementing a PIM system (Akeneo, Plytix, Salsify, Pimberly, or similar)
- Strong command of Shopify - you understand the platform's architecture, limitations, and how to work effectively with developers building on it
- Experience managing complex integrations across multiple systems (CMS, Search Platform, PIM, etc.)
- Ability to write airtight requirements and hold engineering teams accountable to them
- Comfortable working across international markets and navigating localization considerations
- Strong communicator - able to translate technical complexity for business stakeholders and business priorities for engineering teams
- Self-directed and collaborative in equal measure - you can identify what needs to be done and go do it, while keeping the right colleagues & stakeholders informed and bringing them along with you
Preferred:
- Experience with Contentful or a headless CMS architecture
- Familiarity with multi-storefront Shopify setups
- Prior work in a DTC or multi-market retail environment
Contract Details:
- $80-$90/hr
- 6 month contract
- Hybrid, 3 days a week in LA
