Category Merchandising Manager
Job Summary:
The Merchandising Manager will support the development and performance of Ruggable’s product categories, helping to bring customer-centric, on-brand assortments to market. This role partners closely with Design, Product Development, Planning, Marketing, and eCommerce to ensure that product strategies are executed effectively and deliver profitable growth. The ideal candidate is highly organized, data-curious, and excited to help shape category direction through insight-driven decision making.
What You'll Do:
Category Strategy & Assortment Planning
- Contribute to category strategies by analyzing customer insights, market trends, and competitive activity
- Support the creation and maintenance of seasonal line plans and assortment frameworks
- Track product performance and provide recommendations for SKU optimization, line expansions, and product refreshes
- Help prepare seasonal line presentations and materials for cross-functional reviews
Product Development Partnership
- Collaborate with Design and Product Development teams to communicate category needs, product briefs, and key opportunities
- Assist in managing the product lifecycle, including sample reviews, product specs, and tracking milestones
- Maintain product data accuracy and partner with teams to ensure accurate updates across functions and timely launches
Business Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor weekly business performance; identify risks, opportunities, and shifts in consumer behavior
- Compile and share actionable insights with cross-functional partners to inform decisions
- Support pricing analysis and assist in developing promotional strategies alongside Planning and Marketing
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Planning, eCommerce, and Marketing to ensure cohesive go-to-market execution
- Provide merchandising inputs for site merchandising, marketing storytelling, and campaign prioritization
- Maintain strong communication across teams to keep product stories and priorities aligned
Operational Excellence
- Own day-to-day product setup and maintenance, ensuring accuracy across internal systems
- Support SKU-level forecasting inputs and help prepare post-mortems on category performance
- Assist in improving merchandising processes and tools to drive efficiency and clarity
What You'll Need to Have:
- 4–6 years of merchandising, category management, or product-related experience (home goods or consumer goods a plus)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into recommendations
- Excellent communication and cross-functional partnership skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Creative problem solver with a customer-first mindset
- Proficient in Google suite, Microsoft Office Applications (Excel &Sheets); experience with merchandising or PLM systems & project management systems is a plus
Compensation:
- $100,000 - $140,000 per year base salary
- An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
- Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
