Material Handler - 2nd Shift (Tuesday - Saturday)

MATERIAL HANDLER - 2ND SHIFT (TUESDAY - SATURDAY)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support production/engineering with the movement of parts to support the master schedule
• Safely load, secure, and transport equipment such as packages, hardware, and inventory items in support of flight or ground support equipment (GSE) operations
• Physically move and expedite materials when required in support of production/engineering and meet work order completion dates
• Verify all materials are packaged and banded for transport, and assist with loading and unloading of trucks
• Support operations for flight vehicles
• Verify all material transported for conformity with accompanying paperwork, checking for damage, correct part numbers, quantity, and revisions
• Interface with receiving, quality control, purchasing, and other related departments to resolve problems relative to the receipt and distribution of material
• Operate material handling equipment, including but not limited to: forklifts, pallet jacks, trucks/trailers, and hand carts
• Use an electronic material requirements planning (MRP) system to route parts and components to the proper departments
• Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 1+ years of expediting/material handling experience
• Experience operating a forklift and/or material handling motorized vehicles and equipment such as trucks or trailers

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience working within a manufacturing/production environment
• Experience with barcode scanning to document material movement
• Experience working with aircraft or automotive parts and assemblies
• Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
• Rigging experience is highly desired
• Fragile item packaging experience
• Class A commercial driver's license (CDL)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Typical hours for this position, excluding overtime, are Tuesday through Saturday, 3:00 pm – 1:30 am
• Valid diver’s license
• Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
• Must be available for overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
• Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain
