Position: Estimator
Job Type: Full-Time, Remote
Working Hours: US Hours (9am-5pm EST)
Salary: South African Rand (ZAR)
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, considering all aspects from labor to materials and overhead.
Review project plans, specifications, and proposals to understand project requirements.
Conduct thorough analyses of bid documents and design plans to ensure comprehensive estimates.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather relevant data and assess project scope.
Research and source materials, subcontractors, and pricing to support estimates.
Maintain organized documentation of estimates and ensure records are up-to-date.
Participate in project meetings to present estimates and discuss potential cost-saving measures.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and labor costs.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate calculations.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
