DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES | About the role

As a Senior Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst, you will play a critical role in  protecting our organization's digital assets and ensuring the confidentiality,  integrity, and availability of our information systems.

In addition to the responsibilities of a SOC Analyst, you will also be responsible for leading and mentoring junior analysts, developing and implementing security protocols, and collaborating with other departments to ensure a coordinated approach to security.

As the Senior SOC Analyst, you will:

• Security Monitoring: Continuously monitor security alerts and events from various sources, including security information and event management (SIEM) systems, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and firewall logs.

• Incident Detection and Response: Detect and investigate security incidents, such as breaches, malware infections, and unauthorized access, and take appropriate actions to mitigate them. Lead and mentor junior analysts in incident response.

• Threat Analysis: Analyze security data to identify trends, patterns, and potential threats. Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities. Develop and implement security protocols to mitigate threats.

• Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct vulnerability assessments and 
  collaborate with the IT team to ensure timely remediation of identified vulnerabilities.

• Documentation: Maintain documentation of security incidents, 
  investigations, and resolutions, and ensure accurate records are kept for compliance and reporting purposes. Develop and implement documentation standards and protocols.

• Information sharing: Share knowledge within the team, document and are willing to do cross team knowledge sharing. Lead and mentor junior analysts in knowledge sharing.

• Incident Reporting: Prepare and deliver incident reports to management and relevant stakeholders, including recommendations for improvements.  Lead and mentor junior analysts in incident reporting.

• Collaboration: Work closely with local IT and Security Strategy teams, to ensure a coordinated approach to security. Collaborate with other departments to ensure a coordinated approach to security.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE | About you

The ideal Senior SOC Analyst:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a SOC Analyst role.

• Experience leading and mentoring junior analysts.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Coding skills are advised (Python, PowerShell,..)

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to present and explain complex issues for mixed audiences (technical / non-technical).

• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.
