Role Description:
As a Technical Solutions Engineer II, you will provide engineering services and support for end user computing infrastructure and applications. The Technical Solutions Engineer works with all business units across the organization to provide solutions to their technical needs and is involved when evaluating and implementing new technologies for ShipBob. The primary focus will be mobile device management, onboarding/offboarding automation, email, collaboration services, and setting hardware standards. This role reports to Senior Manager, Information Technology.
What you’ll do:
- Work with all business units to assess technology needs.
- Build implementation plans to introduce new technologies to the organization or reconfigure existing technologies as needed following change management policies.
- Ensure proper documentation, notification, escalation, tracking, and follow up of all incidents.
- Design and implement solutions to meet business needs in Azure and other cloud platforms.
- Be the escalation point for issues that are unable to be resolved by 1st and 2nd tier IT support.
- Provide guidance and best practices regarding technologies pertaining to end user computing in a remote-first, cloud-first environment.
- Work closely with the Security team to implement required security measures and controls.
- Be available for on-call escalation support including weekends and holidays.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system hardware and software issues.
- Provide support for Windows desktops\laptops, MacBooks, printers, peripherals, networking infrastructure and other computer related devices.
- Implement automation to remove manual dependencies across all IT functions.
- Provide pertinent input during the change management process.
- Work with 3rd party service providers to resolve issues as needed.
- Participate in periodic maintenance and infrastructure improvement projects after hours, and on weekends.
- Ensure all incidents are tracked in the Jira ticketing system.
- Ensure consistent process implementation across the team through regular communication.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as necessary.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Experience writing, executing, and automating with at least one scripting language (Powershell, Go, Python, Bash). This should also include knowledge of source control in a production environment.
- Familiarity with Azure Automation Accounts, Function App and Storage Accounts.
- Strong understanding of API and API methods, including how to interact with RESTful endpoints and utilize common HTTP verbs (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE) to integrate with various systems and services.
- Knowledge and/or experience implementing SSO and SCIM provisioning for 3rd-Party Applications
- Working knowledge of Power Automate and Power BI
- 2+ years implementing and administering Microsoft Entra ID in an enterprise environment.
- 2+ years experience with Azure (or equivalent cloud providers, AWS, GCP, etc.)
- Deep understanding of supporting a remote first, cloud first, end user computing environment.
- 2+ years designing and implementing end user computing solutions in a cloud first environment.
- Proficient in implementing policies and managing devices via Microsoft Intune\Endpoint Manager (compliance policies, conditional access, application deployment, AAD Join, Autopilot).
- 2+ years designing and implementing MDM solutions such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Mosyle, JAMF, or AirWatch.
- Advanced Windows and MacOS troubleshooting skills.
- Deep understanding of Windows and MacOS best practices (Deployment, Security, Patching).
- Experience packaging and deploying software via Microsoft Intune\Endpoint Manager.
- Experience automating Windows driver installation using manufacturer supplied packages.
- Deep understanding of cloud technologies and automation focused on end user computing solutions.
- Ability to prioritize work based on department and production objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid Peer-to-Peer training and leadership skills.
Nice to have:
- Azure AZ-900 Certification.
- Experience with creating custom PowerApps
- Fundamental knowledge of AI workflows and technologies
