As a Business Development Lead, you will take a strategic, structured, and proactive approach to growing our business through product partnerships that enable our app's features and consumer partnerships that drive brand awareness, monetization, and user growth for Duolingo.
Work closely with Product/Engineering to influence product integrations vital to get strategic partnerships off the ground, particularly with OEMs, payment providers, AI players and others
Grow our partnership portfolio by sourcing, conceptualizing, negotiating and implementing opportunities with measurable impact to business metrics, such as user growth, subscription revenue and brand awareness
Build compelling and quantifiable business cases for strategic bets to pursue
Collaborate with Marketing teams to amplify partnership launches through buzzworthy activations

5+ years of business development experience, having successfully developed partnerships in the digital consumer tech (B2C) space
2+ years of management consulting or investment banking experience
Experience building product partnerships in with AI, Payments or Mobile players
Experience conceiving, developing, and implementing partnerships throughout their full cycles, from deal sourcing, to building business cases, negotiating agreements, driving and tracking results
Critical thinking and structured thought process, with skills to build and communicate compelling, data-driven narratives
Ambitious spirit with a track record of driving impact by building long-lasting external relationships, collaborating effectively with multiple internal teams to drive ideas to execution, and taking a test and scale approach
Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills

Salary Range:
$172,000—$312,000 USD
