Overview
We are seeking experienced, hands-on SAP Payroll Configuration Consultants to support U.S. Payroll implementations and ongoing support initiatives. This role is ideal for professionals with deep expertise in SAP EC Payroll or SAP HCM Payroll configuration, who can work independently and collaboratively to deliver robust, scalable, and compliant payroll solutions.
The consultant will be responsible for end-to-end payroll configuration, including tax model setup, wage type configuration, GL posting setup, and gross-up calculations. They will work closely with the Payroll Lead Consultant, providing backup support and occasionally leading smaller payroll implementations. Collaboration with integration leads is essential to ensure seamless data flow and process efficiency across systems.
Key Responsibilities
Configuration & Delivery
- Perform hands-on configuration of SAP Payroll (U.S.), ensuring alignment with approved payroll design documents and business requirements.
- Lead and execute configuration tasks including:
- Tax model setup
- Wage type configuration
- General Ledger (GL) posting setup
- Gross-up calculations
- Support the Payroll Lead Consultant and act as a backup for assigned tasks and responsibilities.
- Lead small-scale payroll implementations, managing configuration, testing, and deployment.
Payroll Process Optimization
- Optimize key payroll processes including:
- Gross-to-net calculations
- Tax reporting and compliance
- Garnishment setup and management
- Third-party remittances
- Year-end activities
- Accrual setup
- Conduct parallel payroll testing, troubleshooting issues, and resolve integration challenges.
Technical Enhancements & Maintenance
- Develop and refine custom operations, rules, and user exits as needed.
- Apply support packs and maintain system performance and compliance.
Integration & Collaboration
- Collaborate with integration leads to ensure seamless integration with SAP FI, Time Management, Benefits, Compensation, and third-party systems.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure end-to-end payroll process efficiency.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate progress, risks, and issues clearly to project management and stakeholders.
- Provide documentation and support for testing, training, and post-go-live activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience configuring SAP Payroll (ECP or HCM) with a strong focus on U.S. Payroll.
- Proven experience in:
- Tax model setup and BSI Tax Factory integration
- Wage type configuration and payroll catalog setup
- GL posting configuration
- Gross-up calculations and off-cycle payroll processing
- Garnishment configuration and management
- Month-end accrual setup
- Successful delivery of at least 3+ full lifecycle SAP Payroll implementations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional and remote teams.
- Highly self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Pay Range
Minimum - Maximum:
$80,150.00 - $148,850.00
