Job Purpose:Diversey is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chemical Engineer / Scientist to join our R&D team as Senior Scientist. The primary focus of this role is to develop, design, and test new products and applications within the Diversey portfolio. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise, support formulation teams, and collaborate with cross-functional departments including Regulatory, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Technical Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead product development projects from concept to commercialization within the Diversey portfolio.
- Design and conduct laboratory experiments, develop test protocols, analyze data, and document findings.
- Generate innovative ideas and solutions for new products and applications.
- Ensure product development aligns with company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and communicate progress to management and project teams.
- Formula management responsibilities include portfolio maintenance in internal system
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Manage short-term project priorities, monitor timelines, and ensure successful project completion.
- Apply Six Sigma tools and Stage Gate processes to drive process improvement and product innovation.
- Stay updated on emerging techniques, technologies, and industry trends relevant to the R&D portfolio.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s or PhD degree in Chemistry, Polymer technology, Chemical Technology, or related discipline.
Experience:
- Master’s: Above 5 years of relevant F&B and Institutional R&D experience in formulation or application development.
- Ph.D.: Above 3 years of relevant F&B and Institutional R&D experience in formulation or application development.
- Strong knowledge of chemistry, formulation science, specialty/FMCG chemicals, and R&D methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques, product testing, and Stage Gate processes.
- Proficiency in project management, decision-making, planning, estimating, monitoring, and controlling activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
- Demonstrated ability to lead scientific projects and drive execution with clear accountability.
- Result-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with Six Sigma or equivalent process improvement methodologies.
- Track record of successful product development in specialty chemicals, cleaning solutions, or FMCG sectors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
