Biotech Production Operator (Fixed Term Contract)

Lilly is currently constructing a Next Generation Biotech Drug Substance Manufacturing Facility in Limerick, Ireland. This facility will be Lilly’s most technically advanced manufacturing site and will include next-generation manufacturing technologies and advanced data collection and analysis platforms that will deliver improvements in safety and quality, and increased productivity and process performance.

Biotech Production Operator (23-month contract)

As part of the Lilly Production Team, you will be responsible for performing a range of production and operations tasks within a dynamic team, contributing to the manufacturing process and ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality products.

What will you do as a Production Operator at Lilly?

• Operate Machinery or Systems: You'll be responsible for operating various types of machinery, equipment, or computer systems according to established procedures and guidelines.
• Adhere to Health & Safety requirements: Strictly adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with supervisors, coworkers, cross-functional teams, and other team members to coordinate activities, address challenges, and achieve operational goals. Communicate a shift handover & ensure any issues are communicated effectively & actioned appropriately.
• Follow Procedures: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols to ensure consistency, quality, and regulation compliance.
• Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and troubleshoot any issues or malfunctions that arise during operations and highlight them appropriately to the relevant personnel.
• Training and Development: Engage in training sessions and skill development programs to enhance your knowledge and proficiency in operating equipment and systems. Training of new colleagues on manufacturing processes.

What You Need

• Leaving certificate as a minimum or equivalent.
• Having a relevant pharmaceutical/biotech industry qualification is desirable.         
• Be flexible, reliable, and willing to follow the work, undertake various tasks, embrace change, and provide coverage when required.
• Able to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Good communication skills.

Personal Considerations:   

• The Process Operator role will operate shift patterns such as on a 24/7 basis.
• This is a fixed term contract for 23 months.
