PeopleCert is seeking a Director of Studies to join our team in Istanbul, offering a rare opportunity to lead a transformative educational initiative aligned with PeopleCert’s ESG commitment to expanding access to high-quality education. This role will head a newly established LANGUAGECERT initiative, designed to elevate English language proficiency in Greek schools in Istanbul.
This is a pioneering position with real scope to shape, develop, and manage an innovative program that promotes language acquisition through engaging, communicative teaching approaches Drawing on PeopleCert’s extensive international experience in certifications, the initiative is grounded in a strong commitment to academic excellence.
We are seeking a visionary academic leader with a robust educational background and proven, hands-on experience in managing English language schools or comparable programs. Candidates with prior experience as a Director of Studies or school owner will be strongly preferred. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the academic strategy and overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring consistent quality, performance, and effective delivery across the program.
As a Director of Studies, your tasks will include the following:
- Oversee curriculum design, academic standards, and teaching methodology
- Recruit, train, and lead a team of English teachers
- Monitor student progress and ensure continuous academic improvement
- Lead lesson observations, feedback sessions, and teacher development
- Liaise with school leadership, parents, students, and community stakeholders
- Manage facilities, resources, and day-to-day school operations
What we look for:
- University degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or related field
- DELTA, MA TESOL, or equivalent qualification
- Experience as Director of Studies, Academic Manager, or English language school owner
- Proven background in curriculum design, teacher training, and assessment
- Fluency in Turkish (spoken and written) will be strongly preferred
- Greek language skills would be considered a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Understanding of CEFR, language certification, and quality assurance frameworks
- Experience working in international or multicultural school environments
- Proficiency in digital tools and learning platforms
- Strong operational and budget management skills
- Advanced computer literacy is required. ECDL Advance level certification is desirable.
