The Director, HR Services and Operations will be responsible for managing the HR shared services operations in India, reporting directly to the Sr. Director of HR Operations. This role will oversee various aspects of HR administration, including benefits, compliance, HRIS, employee relations, and Talent Acquisition (TA) support. While this position will not be directly responsible for payroll, they will collaborate closely with the Accounting and Payroll departments to ensure smooth coordination and timely execution of payroll-related activities. They will drive the optimization of HR processes, develop and lead a high-performing HR team, and ensure operational efficiency across the organization. The role will also include spearheading change management initiatives and contributing to the overall strategic HR direction within the company.
What you’ll do:
**Leadership & Team Management:**Within the HR operations team, lead and manage the HR Shared Services Center in India. Provide strategic direction, coaching, and mentoring to HR professionals to ensure a high-performing team. Set clear goals and KPIs, monitor performance, and drive team development.
**HR Administration, Operations & Process Optimization:**Oversee key HR administrative and operations functions such as benefits, HRIS, employee records. Identify areas for improvement and implement process efficiencies, automation, and best practices to drive HR operational excellence.
**HR Technology & Systems Management:**Manage the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of HR technology systems (HRIS), ensuring seamless integration and efficient usage. Work closely with IT and other departments to identify and deploy solutions that enhance HR operations.
**Employee Experience & Service Delivery:**Ensure that HR services are delivered in a timely, accurate, and customer-centric manner, improving employee experience and satisfaction. Act as a point of escalation for complex employee issues, ensuring resolution through the HR shared services team.
**Compliance & Risk Management:**Ensure HR operations adhere to local labor laws and company policies, mitigating risk by implementing appropriate compliance measures. Stay current on relevant legislation and manage audits related to HR processes and policies.
**Change Management & Transformation:**Lead HR transformation initiatives, including process improvements, system upgrades, and the implementation of new technologies. Manage change effectively to ensure smooth transitions and high adoption rates across the HR team and organization.
**Data-Driven Insights & Reporting:**Leverage HR data and analytics to track performance, measure service delivery effectiveness, and provide insights to senior leadership. Generate reports and metrics to identify trends, address operational challenges, and support decision-making.
**Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:**Partner closely with senior leadership, the Sr. Director of HR Operations, and cross-functional teams to align HR operations strategies with business goals. Provide insights and recommendations on how HR processes and service delivery can be optimized to support the broader organizational objectives.
**Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution:**Support employee relations and HR issue resolution processes, offering guidance to both employees and managers. Ensure that employee concerns are addressed efficiently and in line with company policy.
**Cost Control & Budget Management:**Oversee the HR shared services budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet operational goals. Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising the quality of HR service delivery.
**Talent Acquisition (TA) Support:**Provide support for Talent Acquisition activities within the HR shared services scope, including:
- Job Posting Management: Posting open positions on relevant platforms and updating job descriptions to ensure alignment with hiring needs.
- Application Tracking: Manage the end-to-end application process using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to ensure smooth candidate progression.
- Candidate Scheduling: Coordinate interviews with hiring managers, schedule assessments, and manage logistics for the recruitment process.
- Pre-employment Checks: Ensure background checks, reference verifications, and other pre-employment requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Employment Agreements & Offers: Generate and distribute employment agreements and offer letters globally, ensuring compliance with company policies and local labor laws.
**Payroll Partnership:**Partner closely with the Accounting and Payroll departments to ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll. Collaborate on payroll-related matters, including data validation, tax compliance, and employee inquiries related to compensation. Ensure seamless communication between HR and Payroll teams for smooth execution.
What will you need to have?
**Education:**Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or relevant certifications such as SHRM, CIPD preferred).
Experience:10+ years of experience in HR operations, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role, managing HR shared services or HR operations teams. Prior experience in a large-scale, complex organization is highly preferred.
**Leadership & Team Management:**Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing HR operations teams. Ability to drive accountability, foster a culture of collaboration, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
**HR Operations Expertise:**In-depth knowledge of HR operations processes, including benefits administration, HRIS, compliance, and talent acquisition support within the Indian context. Familiarity with various HR technologies and platforms such as SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, or PeopleSoft.
**Payroll & Compliance Knowledge:**Familiarity with payroll processes and compliance within India. Ability to work collaboratively with the Accounting and Payroll teams to ensure smooth payroll operations and adherence to tax and labor regulations.
**Change Management & Transformation:**Experience in managing and driving change initiatives, particularly in HR operations or shared services. Proven ability to lead system upgrades, process transformations, and automation efforts.
**Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:**Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret HR metrics, develop actionable insights, and make data-driven decisions to improve operational efficiency.
**Communication & Stakeholder Management:**Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels and influence senior leadership. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across functions.
**Compliance & Risk Management:**Sound understanding of Indian labor laws, HR policies, and compliance requirements. Ability to develop and implement frameworks to ensure adherence to regulations.
