Senior Technical Designer
As a Senior Technical Designer, you’ll be working closely with other designers, engineers, key stakeholders and other craft representatives to create a high-quality hand-crafted experience for our players. You will be a core part of the game development processfor one of the biggest game franchises in the world – from ideation and design to implementing and polishing.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to bring gameplay elements to life – from idea to implementation
- Design and implement gameplay mechanics in Unreal Engine (5)
- Be responsible for iterative design and implementation work as well as bug-fixing for gameplay features and systems
- Test, evaluate and balance your designs in cooperation with peers and other crafts and stakeholders within the project
- Collaborate with your team and project on creating the best experience for our players
- Communicate rationales, design choices and feedback, within the team and project
- Document your work, making sure it stays up-to-date and is shared within the project
Qualifications
- Expert Technical Design experience having shipped at least 1 title with exposure to a full project life cycle with all its different stages
- Strong game development knowledge and experience working in Unreal Engine (5)
- Extensive experience designing and implementing gameplay elements and game content
- Strong visual scripting experience, with programming knowledge as a significant plus
- Knowledge of game design and understanding of contextualized design
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written form (in English), to support your vision
- Ability to work together with other designers, engineers and other stakeholders
- The desire to be part of a creative and highly collaborative team and ability to work with feedback and direction.
- Experience with, and an understanding of what makes Minecraft what it is also considered a plus
We’re looking for candidates who are eligible to work in Sweden. Since our hybrid work model requires two onsite days per week, you’ll need to be based in Stockholm to collaborate with your team and soak up the studio energy.
