Lab Technician
Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.
We are looking for a Facilities Lab Technician, who will be responsible for the continuous operation, maintenance, and safety of our laboratory environments. This role ensures that all lab utilities, equipment, and safety systems function within specified parameters to support uninterrupted Robot research. You will act as the bridge between general building maintenance and specialized laboratory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Operations & Maintenance
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on lab equipment
- Monitor and maintain critical utilities , compressed air, Chilled water, and specialty gasmanifolds. (Argon/Nitrogen)
- Oversee HVAC performance, ensuring proper air change rates, pressure differentials,and temperature/humidity control.
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized equipment calibrations and repairs.
Safety & Compliance
- Serve as a point of contact for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) protocols.
- Manage the inventory, labeling, and removal of hazardous, chemical, andbiohazardous waste
- Conduct weekly inspections of emergency stations (eyewash, safety showers) andchemical storage areas.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and logs to ensure audit readiness (FDA, ISO, orOSHA standards).
Lab Logistics
- Manage the layout and installation of new lab equipment, ensuring proper power andutility hookups.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and consumables for facility-related hardware.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Associate’s degree in a technical field (Electronics, Mechanical Systems) ora Life Science degree with strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience: 2–5 years in a laboratory, clinical, or highly regulated manufacturingenvironment.
- Technical Proficiency:○Familiarity with GLP/GMP (Good Laboratory/Manufacturing Practices). ○Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), andelectrical schematics. ○Experience using CMMS software (e.g., Blue Mountain, MaintenanceConnection).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spacesor around hazardous materials (with proper PPE).

The US base hourly range for this full-time position is between $35 – $45.
