ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking a visionary Lead of Technical Training to synthesize product capabilities with user training needs across Anduril’s advanced hardware and software offerings. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring our diverse customer base – including military, government agency, and commercial clients –are empowered with a clear and comprehensive understanding of our product capabilities, translating highly technical content in a rapidly evolving environment into user-friendly content for the instructional team. You will also act as a lead instructor as needed.
You will lead, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing technical writers, instructional designers, and content strategists, fostering a culture of innovation, impact, and continuous improvement. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record in building and scaling technical programs and navigating complex defense and intelligence environments. You will serve as a strategic bridge between our customers, internal engineering teams, and product development, ensuring our content is world-class and directly informs future product enhancements and content needs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Strategic Leadership & Team Management:
- Define, develop, and execute a comprehensive, end-to-end technical content strategy that aligns with Anduril’s product roadmap, business objectives, and customer success goals.
- Lead, inspire, and grow a high-performing team of technical content professionals, including technical writers, instructional designers, and content strategists.
- Establish clear performance metrics, development pathways, and operational standards for the technical content organization.
- Foster a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement within the content teams.
Content Development & Lifecycle Management:
- Oversee the creation, curation, and maintenance of all technical training content, including generating innovative ideas using AR/VR.
- Implement content management strategies and tools to optimize content creation workflows, version control, localization, and delivery.
- Drive the continuous assessment and evolution of content based on user feedback, analytics, and product updates.
- Ensure content is technically accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with new features and functionalities across all product lines.
Stakeholder Collaboration & User Advocacy:
- Act as a key strategic partner to Product Management, Engineering, Design, Operations, and Customer Support teams to proactively identify content needs, gather technical information, and ensure content supports product success.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, understanding their information needs, identifying pain points, and advocating for user-centric content solutions.
- Translate complex technical concepts and technical terminology into clear, concise, and accessible training content for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build a bridge between our end users and Anduril, capturing feedback, identifying pain points, and informing the development of new product features and content.
Operational Excellence & Compliance:
- Establish and optimize standardized processes, tools, and techniques for content development, publication, record-keeping, and management.
- Oversee the effective utilization and continuous enhancement of Content Management Systems (CMS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other technical content tools.
- Implement robust audit-ready processes for content documentation, compliance reporting, and data collection.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience in with the US military or Intelligence Community (IC) enabling an understanding of their unique operational training requirements.
- Experience as a technical trainer, preferable with the US military or IC.
- Engineering expertise, particularly with technologies applicable to the defense industry, with a significant portion (5+ years) in a leadership or management capacity.
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to define and implement a comprehensive technical content vision.
- Deep expertise in product testing and evaluation in relation to customer needs and feedback, particularly enabling improvement of training materials.
- Ability to rapidly grasp complex hardware and software systems and translate highly technical concepts into clear, concise, and engaging documentation.
- Strong ownership mentality, with a bias for action and a commitment to achieving impactful results.
- Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of an organization and with external customers.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% to customer locations, including potential hazard zones and test sites.
- Currently possesses and is able to maintain at least an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent experience in a similar field.
- Experience with vulnerability research
- Prior US military service
- Experience with the Intelligence Community (IC) and familiarity with unique requirements.
- Experience with simulation tools or other immersive learning technologies.
