This role is based in San Francisco and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.
About the Role
Team Leadership: You'll lead a team of backend and platform engineers focused on building scalable infrastructure, improving developer experience, and driving operational excellence across Patreon’s engineering org.
Technical Strategy & Execution: You'll define and deliver on a platform roadmap that balances immediate reliability needs with long-term architectural investments.
Collaboration at Scale: You'll work closely with product teams, infrastructure, and cross-functional partners to ensure our backend systems are performant, observable, and developer-friendly.
Culture & Growth: You'll be responsible for mentoring engineers, fostering a healthy team culture, and helping grow the next generation of technical leaders at Patreon.
Mission-Driven Impact: Your work will directly support the creators who rely on Patreon by ensuring our platform is stable, fast, and built to scale with their ambitions.
Participate in company-wide hiring activities such as recruiting, interviewing, and closing top candidates.
