YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

The Deputy Sales General Manager will support the Sales General Manager in leading, developing, and executing the company’s sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets. This role requires a results-driven leader with a strong background in sales management, team leadership, business development, and client relationship management. The Deputy GM will act as the second-in-command for the sales function, driving performance across regions, channels, and key accounts while ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sales Leadership
    • Assist in formulating and executing the overall sales strategy, aligned with company objectives.
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify new opportunities.
    • Support the GM in setting sales targets, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Team Management & Development
    • Lead, mentor, and motivate regional/area sales managers and teams to achieve KPIs.
    • Foster a performance-driven culture through coaching, training, and continuous improvement.
    • Participate in recruitment and talent development within the sales department.
  • Business Development
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
    • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across markets and channels.
    • Negotiate major contracts and oversee strategic partnerships.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Monitor sales performance, pipeline management, and reporting accuracy.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing strategies, and ethical standards.
    • Oversee implementation of sales systems, CRM tools, and performance dashboards.
  • Deputy Leadership Role
    • Represent the Sales GM in meetings, client engagements, and strategic initiatives when required.
    • Provide decision-making support and ensure continuity of leadership in the GM’s absence.
    • Act as a bridge between senior management and frontline sales teams.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in [insert relevant industry].
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and sales operations.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and data-driven decision-making.
