SAP Payroll Specialist
About the role
You will be part of the Professional Services (Proserv) France team, reporting to the Proserv Team Manager. In this role, you will support our outsourced SAP payroll customers by ensuring payroll processes are executed accurately and on time, while maintaining a high level of service quality.
You will work closely with internal teams and clients to support payroll operations, resolve issues, and contribute to continuous improvements in payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Operations
- Execute routine payroll transactional tasks according to the standard payroll service definition, including:
- On-cycle payroll processing
- Bank file creation
- Tax and social insurance reporting
- Payslip generation
- General Ledger (GL) creation
- Ensure payroll validation reports and error logs are reviewed and resolved in a timely manner.
- Produce standard and client-specific payroll reports.
System Support & Improvements
- Participate in system and application upgrade testing (HRSPs, system upgrades, etc.).
- Support projects related to payroll processes and documentation (e.g., PeopleDoc and other tools).
- Identify deviations from the Payroll Calendar and escalate or discuss with the Payroll Specialist or client.
- Update and maintain payroll process documentation and procedures.
- Execute SOC1 controls related to payroll activities.
Client & Team Collaboration
- Maintain effective communication with internal teams and clients.
- Provide clear updates on the status, resolution, and root cause of payroll-related issues.
- Manage daily priorities, assigned tickets, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Regularly report progress and status updates to the Cluster Lead.
- Understand HR processes and SAP HR architecture to support service delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working with payroll processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French (German or Italian is a plus).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Service-oriented mindset with strong client focus.
- High level of accountability and attention to detail.
- Interest in HR technology and delivering high-quality support.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
