Video Editing Lead (Post-Production Lead)
JOB PURPOSE:
The Editing Unit Lead position is a strategic leadership role that oversees post-production editing operations and drives excellence across all video content creation. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on expertise, managing high-performing teams while ensuring the delivery of exceptional creative output. The position holder will be responsible for leading complex production projects, maintaining industry-leading quality standards, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the editing department. This role shapes the future of creative content while mentoring the next generation of editing professionals.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the editing team while developing and implementing their Learning & Development plans.
- Oversee high-production projects from conception to final delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and creative vision.
- Prepare and present detailed project reports to senior management, including progress updates and resource utilization.
- Establish and maintain rigorous quality assurance protocols across all editing stages to ensure best practices are followed.
- Develop, document, and enforce best practices for editing workflows, file management, and delivery specifications.
- Ensure all content meets industry standards, platform requirements, and client specifications through technical compliance oversight.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new editing tools, software, and post-production technologies to enhance creative capabilities.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving content formats across various platforms and media.
- Lead the implementation of new technologies and workflows, including training and change management for the team.
- Coordinate collaborative editing workflows between editors and post-production stakeholders including colorists and sound designers.
- Optimize team assignments and resource allocation based on project requirements and individual team member strengths.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation, professional growth, and creative experimentation.
- Perform any other related task as assigned by management.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Arts, Communications, or related creative field preferred.
- Experience: 4-6 years of proven management experience in post-production or creative industries with an extensive portfolio showcasing diverse project types and demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver projects successfully.
SKILLS
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities for client interaction and team coordination.
- Strong, advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, including its comprehensive toolset and plugin ecosystem.
- Deep familiarity with collaborative editing workflows between editors and post-production stakeholders including colorists and sound designers.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with AI-powered tools and applications that enhance the editing process.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills for technical and creative challenges.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and industry developments.
