Senior Community Engineer
Inspire developers, build with video, and help developers use Mux. Write code, create content, and represent Mux at conferences.
**About the Role**As a Community Engineer, you'll inspire developers to build cool things with video, build cool stuff yourself, and help developers use (and love!) Mux and our platform. This Community Engineer role is part of the Self-Service team, who is responsible for attracting and converting new developers to start building with Mux. As a Community Engineer, you'll spend about 40% of time on content, 40% of time writing code and contributing to various projects, and 20% time on creative exploration.
What You'll Do
- Talk to customers to see first hand what they are building and how they are using Mux.
- Come up with creative ideas to help expose Mux to developers in an authentic and engaging way.
- Improve Mux’s documentation and resources that help developers understand what Mux does and how they can use Mux.
- Speak and write for a developer audience, submit talks, make videos, write blog posts, and represent Mux at conferences.
- Help drive the feedback loop between what you’re seeing in the larger developer community and the Mux Engineering and Product teams to ensure that the customer voice is being amplified.
Who You Are
- Senior-level engineer with 5+ years of experience writing code and are comfortable building with modern programming languages, and a strong desire to keep growing your technical skills.
- You have a self-starter, entrepreneurial mindset and thrive in ambiguity and fast-moving environments.
- You love problem solving, you like helping people and you like working with developers.
- Willing to travel for conferences, events, and meetups.
- Bonus: Experience running or supporting a community - whether online or in person, developer or otherwise.

These pay ranges are established using standardized criteria, including job function, level, and location. They're also benchmarked against similar companies in a similar stage of growth. The starting base pay for this position is between $175K - $210K. Actual pay is influenced by various factors such as location, skills, depth of experience, and internal equity.
