The Automation Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and accessibility of digital solutions by designing and executing robust test strategies, supporting automation practices, and contributing to high-quality software delivery within agile teams.
This is a 12 month contract role.
What you'll do:
Develop and manage test strategies, test plans, and test cases using Azure DevOps and related tools.
Write, review, and execute manual and automated test cases for web-based applications.
Analyse requirements, user stories, and specifications to design effective testing coverage.
Identify, log, and track defects using Azure DevOps or departmental systems.
Support and contribute to the implementation of test automation frameworks and practices.
Conduct accessibility testing to ensure compliance with WCAG standards.
Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and engage with business stakeholders throughout testing cycles.
Collaborate within cross-functional agile teams including developers, analysts, and product owners.
Contribute to test reporting, documentation, and continuous improvement of testing processes.
Operate effectively in fast-paced, distributed team environments.
What you'll bring:
- Strong experience in automation and system testing within web-based application environments.
- Proven ability to design, write, review, and execute detailed test plans and test cases.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps for test management, defect tracking, and execution.
- Strong understanding of agile testing practices and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and experience testing for compliance.
- Experience supporting or leading UAT activities with business stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, agile, and distributed team environments.
- Experience testing Microsoft and Azure-based applications (desirable).
