The Opportunity

This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we’re committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels.

Abbott Diabetes Care is seeking a Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis to join our US Commercial team based onsite in Alameda, CA. This role will report to the US Controller and support planning and optimization as it relates to market access, pricing and other strategic deliverables. Key focuses include long term strategy (LRP), strategic planning, CDR optimization/forecasting, pricing strategies, audit compliance, and ROI analytics. This role will also manage one financial analyst.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Lead long-range planning (LRP) process
CDR optimization being the Finance liaison working with Demand and DACS
Collaborate with Commercial teams on developing, supporting, and executing tactical plans
Perform ROI investment analytics to support efficient and effective spend allocations
Manage supply constraint scenarios including product launches, transitions and end-of-life
CGM pricing and market access dynamics as it relates to short- and long-term forecasting
Support special requests from Investor Relations, Medical Devices, DHQ/GHQ and other internal and external groups
Provide financial counsel and oversight for acquisitions, alliances and other strategic programs, including ad hoc analysis and decision support to all functions as needed
Develop system solutions and process improvements that meet Planning and Reporting requirements
Lead, coach and develop team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field
Minimum 8 years of full-time finance and/or accounting experience
Strong analytical, problem solving, variance analysis skills, and attention to details
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) with advanced Excel skills
Ability to learn system software and databases quickly (SAP, Essbase, Business Objects)
