The role
We're seeking a Data Center Infrastructure Engineer to lead the physical infrastructure build, deployment, and optimization of our data center environments.
This role is highly hands on and sits at the intersection of structured cabling, network infrastructure, and facility systems. You will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling mission critical environments, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and operational readiness across our sites.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience across fiber/copper cabling, hardware deployment, and data center facility systems, and is comfortable owning projects end to end from planning through execution and audit readiness.
Location: Vineland, New Jersey.
Your responsibilities will include:
Infrastructure Deployment & Build
- Lead rack & stack, structured cabling (fiber & copper), and hardware deployment activities across new and existing data center environments
- Execute and oversee fiber backbone installation, splicing, and testing (OTDR, power meter)
- Ensure all installations meet industry standards, design specifications, and operational requirements
Data Center Systems & Facilities
- Support and optimize power distribution, cooling systems (including liquid cooling), HVAC, and environmental monitoring
- Partner with facilities and engineering teams to ensure high availability and performance of critical infrastructure systems
- Contribute to capacity planning, space utilization, and infrastructure resilience improvements
Planning, Design & Documentation
- Assist in MDF/IDF design, rack layout planning, and cable plant architecture
- Produce and maintain as-built documentation, test results, and audit-ready records
- Develop and improve standards, SOPs, and deployment playbooks
Vendor & Project Coordination
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within scope
- Manage RFQs, SOWs, and vendor performance, ensuring quality and accountability
- Act as a technical lead on-site, driving execution and resolving blockers
Troubleshooting & Optimization
- Perform advanced troubleshooting across cabling, network hardware, and Linux-based systems supporting data center infrastructure
- Execute basic system level diagnostics via command line (logs, networking, hardware validation) to support deployment and issue resolution.
Requirements:
- 5–10+ years of experience in data center infrastructure, cabling, or deployment engineering roles
- Strong hands-on expertise with:
- Fiber optics (fusion/mechanical splicing, ISP/OSP)
- Structured cabling systems (fiber & copper)
- Rack & stack, hardware installation, and commissioning
- Working knowledge of Linux systems and command line operations (log analysis, network diagnostics, system validation)
- Experience working within live data center environments, including:
- Power distribution
- Cooling systems (air and/or liquid)
- Environmental monitoring and physical infrastructure
- Familiarity with network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, or similar) and basic configuration/troubleshooting
- Experience creating documentation, cable records, and audit-ready deliverables
- Proven ability to coordinate vendors and manage infrastructure projects on-site
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with GPU/HPC or high-density computer environments.
- Experience supporting bare-metal environments and Linux-based infrastructure in data centers
- Familiarity with change management, asset tracking, and quality assurance processes.
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards in data center or industrial settings.
