CNC Machinist (Starship Components)
Operate, setup, and program CNC machines to produce hardware for Starship components. Requires 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
CNC MACHINIST (STARSHIP COMPONENTS)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate, setup, and program edit CNC machines, and produce dev, non-flight and flight hardware needed to achieve quick turn program goals
- Perform precision set-ups of various CNC machines on state-of-the-art assets (preferably Okuma mill-turn)
- Prioritize daily work to ensure satisfying customer need dates with the highest quality of parts
- Manage cutting tools in CNC machines to ensure that machines have the needed cutting tools loaded and measured before they are called in upcoming programs
- Perform on machine deburr of hardware to contribute consistent quality of parts with less human intervention
- Perform CNC machine preventative maintenance on a weekly and monthly basis
- Maintain the shop in terms of chip bins, oils, greases, 5S, and general upkeep activities
- Remain flexible in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and support teammates however possible
- Complete work instructions and test plans to document needed data throughout each process
- Introduce fresh ideas in machining, fixturing and tooling approach for optimal efficiency
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of experience in CNC machining
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience operating CNC machinery
- Ability to program using Esprit CAD/CAM software
- Proficient knowledge in high efficiency milling and turning
- Ability to read accurately, write clearly, and perform basic arithmetic calculations accurately
- Experience in shop math, tooling technology, blueprint reading, and measurement of parts
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Strong interpersonal skills including, but not limited to, contributing to a team-oriented environment, balancing the team, and individual responsibilities
- Capable and or has the capacity to learn all assets in the shop
- Able and willing to cross train their peers and or to be cross trained by their peers
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Estimated start time: 1st shift (5:00 AM)
- Must be capable of lifting 35 lbs. unassisted
- Must be capable of standing and kneeling for 8 hours
- Ability to use physical and repetitive movements such as bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
- Ability to be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:Level 1: $23.00 - $27.00/hourLevel 2: $26.00 - $32.50/hourLevel 3: $31.00 - $38.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
