Role Overview :
The Director of Strategy will lead the development and execution of webook.com growth strategy, driving market expansion, business performance, and long-term value creation. This role partners closely with executives and cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities, analyze market trends, and deliver data-driven strategic initiatives that position Webook.com as a market leader both in KSA and globally.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Lead the creation of the annual business plan from a strategic and innovative perspective, ensuring full alignment with the company’s vision and goals.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable initiatives and measurable OKRs across departments.
- Oversee the Strategy Management Office (SMO) to track progress, manage interdependencies, and ensure accountability in strategy execution.
- Establish and lead quarterly strategy reviews with senior leadership to evaluate performance and recommend course corrections.
Market & Business Growth
- Identify and execute initiatives to strengthen market leadership in KSA through detailed analysis of competitive dynamics, customer needs, and industry trends.
- Conduct deep market analysis to anticipate shifts in consumer behavior and emerging competitive threats.
- Lead the development of market entry strategies for new international territories, assessing opportunities, risks, and regulatory requirements.
- Build frameworks to evaluate and prioritize global expansion opportunities, including partnerships, acquisitions, and organic growth initiatives.
Innovation & Transformation
- Develop and propose innovative business models and digital initiatives to enhance growth and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for new products or process improvements that provide a competitive advantage.
- Champion innovation across the organization, fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.
Data & Insights
- Partner with analytics, finance, and product teams to define KPIs and dashboards that measure the success of strategic initiatives.
- Synthesize complex data into actionable insights to guide executive decision-making.
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of strategic initiatives, providing regular performance reports and insights to key stakeholders.
Partnerships, M&A & Investment
- Identify and evaluate potential strategic partnerships, joint ventures, or acquisitions aligned with long-term objectives.
- Lead business case development, due diligence, and post-merger integration planning when required.
- Build structured frameworks for assessing strategic fit, investment return, and risk exposure.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the executive team, providing insights grounded in market intelligence and business performance.
- Communicate strategic plans and outcomes effectively to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and buy-in.
- Develop high-impact presentations and strategic proposals for investors, partners, and clients.
Leadership & Team Development
Build and mentor a high-performing strategy team, fostering analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and innovation.
Develop internal capabilities in market analysis, scenario planning, and strategic execution.
10+ years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or business development, with a proven record in driving growth and market expansion.
Demonstrated experience in international market entry and global strategy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
Excellent leadership and stakeholder management abilities, with experience influencing senior executives and cross-functional teams.
Background in the technology, digital, or high-growth industries is a strong plus.
Solid financial acumen and experience developing business cases and ROI models.
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, including experience preparing executive and investor presentations.
Familiarity with OKRs, agile strategy execution, or digital transformation programs preferred.
MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
