PRIMARY OBJECTIVESThe primary responsibilities of this post are to actively seek out and engage customers by promoting merchandise in the housewares department, ensure customers’ needs are adequately met and exceeded, to ensure that departments are adequately stocked and appropriately merchandised while ensuring all transactions are completed accurately according to established procedures.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Provide service excellent to customers and generate additional sales, while processing sale transactions
To ensure that all steps are followed as it relates to all forms of payment
Arrange and display goods on the sales floor to facilitate easy, speedy and safe access
Merchandising
Effectively order goods from the warehouse and other retail floors
Respond to customers’ inquiries, complaints and product queries
Assist with stock take
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
Excellent customer service skills
Five CXC passes at General proficiency level including Mathematics and English Language
At least one (1) year sales experience in the retail industry
Computer literate in at least Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
Ability to act independently while performing required tasks
Ability to use tact and courtesy at all times
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to work well with other employees
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to coordinate activities between different locations
Ability to get individual and group tasks completed efficiently and on a timely basis
