Senior Billing Analyst

HackerOne is looking for an experienced Billing Analyst to support our rapid growth. This person will manage the entire invoicing process from start to finish, for both US and International customers.

POSITION SUMMARY:

At HackerOne, we are on a mission to build a safer internet. As a Senior Billing Analyst, you will own the end-to-end billing and invoicing process for our global customer base, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and operational excellence in everything you do. You will collaborate across Sales, Finance, and Operations to deliver a seamless billing experience that reflects our values of Customer Obsession, Default to Disclosure, and Win Together.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives on problem-solving, process optimization, and continuous improvement. You will play a critical role in strengthening the financial backbone of a fast-growing SaaS business by combining precision with proactive, data-driven decision making.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Own the Outcome for the full invoicing and collections lifecycle across U.S. and international customers — ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

• Partner with Sales, Finance, and Operations to reconcile data, resolve discrepancies, and improve billing efficiency.

• Act as the point of contact for customer and internal billing inquiries, maintaining a high standard of service and communication.

• Manage daily payment posting, cash application, and collections for past-due accounts.

• Apply Data-Driven Decision Making to analyze billing and payment trends, identify issues, and recommend process improvements.

• Calculate and file sales tax returns; stay compliant as new jurisdictions or regulations emerge.

• Support Order Management activities

• Prepare and reconcile trade receivables, allowance for bad debts and rewards prepayment schedules; post related journal entries during monthly close.

• Support audits, reporting, and ad hoc finance projects with accurate and timely documentation.

• Demonstrate Change Agility by adapting to evolving systems, processes, and compliance requirements.

• Use First Principles Problem Solving to simplify complex workflows and enhance billing scalability.

• Adopt an AI-First mindset to help shape automation efforts using AI to increase accuracy and reduce manual effort.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• A self-starter who is motivated and passionate enough to do whatever it takes to accomplish the job

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting

• {#experience-years}5+ years of billing experience{

• Experience at SaaS companies preferred

• Strong Excel skills (V-LOOKUP, pivot tables)

• Demonstrate excellent customer service skill, both verbal and written

• Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations

• Experience working in multiple currencies, and understanding of foreign exchange rates

• Understanding and application of GAAP principles

• Having worked with well known sales and customer procurement systems (SalesForce, Coupa, Ariba etc.)

• Workday experience a plus

• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks

• Ability and desire to work in fast-paced startup environment

• Excellent time management skills

• Flexible, proactive, responsible and detail-oriented individual.
