Online-Session Mentor (Volunteer)
Proximity Foundation runs structured coding education programs for young people aged 14-18 at Community Care Institutions (CCIs). Using a computer-based LMS curriculum covering HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL, we pair students with volunteer mentors in cohort-based sessions designed to build real technical skills and lasting confidence.
We are scaling from the first cohort to many cohorts within Mumbai and building the operational team that will carry this program forward. Every role with Proximity Foundation is a direct investment in the young people we serve.
Role Type - Volunteer
Time Commitment : 1 hr on weekday - (one day a week only) and one hour on weekend (either Saturday or Sunday)

ROLE FOCUS
Deliver mentor-led online coding sessions to students aged 14-18 at the CCI using the computer-based LMS curriculum. This is a direct mentorship role — you'll be in the online room with students, guiding them through HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver mentor-led online coding sessions to students aged 14-18 at the CCI
- Use the computer-based LMS curriculum to guide each session
- Support student engagement, understanding, and confidence
- Flag student concerns or attendance issues to Program Coordinator
- Participate in mentor check-ins and briefings
- Coordinate with Program Coordinator Lead on scheduling
- Collaborate with backup pool for session continuity
- Provide session notes and attendance reports after each session
WHAT A TYPICAL WEEK LOOKS LIKE
A typical week involves one or two online sessions with the CCI students, a quick async check-in with the Program Coordinator, and a short session notes submission afterwards. It's structured but flexible.
