Job Description
Purpose
Responsible to support the Sales Organization in the achievement of defined sales targets for selected product lines by providing technical & applications expertise where required during the sales process.
The region covered will by UK, Ireland and the Benelux/Nordics region.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and provide timely high level demos & sample analysis in agreement with Sales Team Leader and Account Managers• Assist Sales Professionals in assessing customer needs, differentiating from competition PerkinElmer’s value proposition, handling customer objections and helping to close when necessary. . • Work with leadership to define standards of demonstrations, sales training, and presentation material.• Perform product and applications training of Sales Professionals and third party agents/dealers; Develop sales professionals’ skills for simple demos and independent selling.• Proactively provide competitive intelligence and market analysis to Product Management team • In association with our customers develop content/applications for marcom collateral to improve win rates and grow the sales pipeline.• Provide technical support to the local Sales professionals in ensuring that quotes and recommended configurations meet customer needs and all commitments made fall within the performance specifications of the instrument.• Assist Service partners in developing the training material and becoming independent in performing high level customers training • Own the demo inventory on defined product lines – responsible for conditions and locations.• Generate a strong customer reference list
Personal Profile:• Must be Professional and Ethical with high Integrity.• Proactive mindset with strong sense of responsibility and ownership. Ability to analyse and solve complex problems. Capable of influencing and motivating others.• Strong interpersonal skills • Ability to operate independently and as part of a team.
Education and experience:• Master’s degree in relevant science disciplines (PhD degree preferred).• Strong practical experience in organic mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS preferred).• 3 years experience as FAS or related job content• Good team player• Ability to define and promote added value solutions for customers• Good communication skills• Available to travel, 50%, and valid Drivers License. 80% of travel will be in the UK with regular visits to the demonstration suite at High Wycombe office.• English (very good level)
Secondary requirement: experience and knowledge of GCMS.
Computer:• Strong PC and Microsoft Windows skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/MS Access/MS Project).• Use of email, familiarity with on-line tools (Internet and intranet usage).
Communication:• Meetings, conference calls, and process documentation will require good verbal and written communication skills. Capability to prepare and conduct lectures, presentations and trainings to a diversified audience is essential.
