HR Generalist
Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and people-first HR Generalist to support the full spectrum of human resources operations. In this role, you will serve as a day-to-day resource for employees and managers, administer core HR programs, and maintain the data accuracy that keeps our people operations running smoothly. What You’ll Do:
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Coordinate end-to-end onboarding logistics, including scheduling new hire orientations, preparing welcome communications, and ensuring Day 1 readiness
- Process new hire data in Paylocity and supporting systems; maintain accurate employment records from offer through first day
- Partner with IT to provision system access, manage distribution list enrollment, and ensure seamless technology onboarding for new employees
- Manage offboarding coordination, including scheduling exit meetings, collecting company property, and processing terminations accurately in payroll and HR systems
Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, and ancillary plans; coordinate open and life-event enrollment periods
- Oversee 401(k) plan administration, including enrollment, contribution changes, loan processing, and vendor coordination
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee benefits questions, providing timely and accurate guidance
HRIS & Data Management
- Maintain Paylocity as the system of record; manage user access and security roles, and ensure employee data integrity across all modules
- Generate and analyze monthly HR data reports, identifying trends in headcount, turnover, compensation, and benefits utilization
- Process employment changes — promotions, transfers, compensation adjustments, and status changes — in HRIS and payroll systems with accuracy and timeliness
- Contribute to data hygiene initiatives and audit activities to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy
Leave of Absence & Compliance
- Partner with third party vendor on administering leave of absence programs (FMLA, state leave, personal leave), coordinating approvals, tracking, and return-to-work processes
- Ensure leave events are accurately reflected in payroll and HR systems with appropriate documentation
- Support recordkeeping compliance in accordance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
Compensation & Performance
- Participate in compensation benchmarking exercises, gathering market data to support pay equity reviews and offer recommendations
- Administer performance management platform, including cycle setup, general configuration, and employee/manager support
Employee Experience & Support
- Respond to daily employee inquiries via email and direct support channels, delivering timely, accurate, and empathetic assistance
- Build trusted relationships across the organization, acting as a reliable and approachable HR resource at all levels
What You’ll Need to Have:
Required:
- 2–4 years of progressive HR generalist or HR coordinator experience
- Hands-on experience with an HRIS platform — Paylocity, ADP, or comparable system required
- Demonstrated ability to work with HR data: running reports, analyzing trends, and presenting findings clearly
- Working knowledge of benefits administration, including open enrollment, billing reconciliation, and carrier coordination
- Familiarity with payroll processing workflows and the downstream impact of HR transactions
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a service-oriented mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace; comfort learning new HR tools quickly
Preferred:
- Experience with Lattice or a comparable performance management system
- Exposure to leave of absence administration (FMLA, state-specific leave programs)
- Background in compensation benchmarking or participation in salary survey submissions
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or other relevant HR certification (or active pursuit)
- Experience in a high-growth or mid-size company environment
Compensation:
- $75,000 - $85,000 per year base salary
- An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
- Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
