Electrical Engineer (Power Systems)
Electrical Engineer (Power Systems) needed to design, build, and activate infrastructure for SpaceX projects. Requires 3+ years of experience with commercial or industrial power systems.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (POWER SYSTEMS)
As a member of the Construction Projects Team, you will work with engineers across multiple disciplines to design, build, and activate infrastructure that will enable SpaceX to achieve its long-term mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate and grow with the multi-discipline SpaceX Construction Projects Team by performing (power-specific) engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities for a variety of critical and fast-paced company projects.
- Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial type projects
- Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out
- Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time
- Coordinate with electrical utility provider for design/engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure
- Interact with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and project stakeholders
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology
- 3+ years of professional experience with the design or build of commercial or industrial power systems
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Primary experience with electrical and power distribution systems (<600Vac)
- Working knowledge of delta/wye transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, building lighting, building construction specifications, and facility grounding
- Experience with critical power infrastructure including UPS systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switches
- Experience creating and implementing process/design solutions with minimal impact on business operations
- Ability to quickly assess an issue and assist technicians with troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to work in a high-concentration, high-stress environment, under possible extended work hours and tight deadlines
- Acute attention to detail, ability to see interactions with other systems to avoid problems
- AutoCAD/Revit – beginner to intermediate skill level
- Familiarity with the National Electric Code, National Fire Protection Association, and International Building Code
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Perform hands-on work in all environments (heat, cold, rain), in tight quarters or at heights
- Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed; flexibility required
- Remain focused while working in hazardous environments, while wearing appropriate PPE
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
- Travel up to 50% to other SpaceX locations
- Valid driver’s license

- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
