Major Responsibilities.
1. Performs work designated on work order according to standards and procedures given in the service manual and other literature.
SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED WHEN
A. All work is completed according to standards.
B. Procedures are followed at all times in completing work.
C. Wears the required / supplied PPE when executing the required work
2. Use special tools as required.
SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED WHEN
A. Tools are used according to requirement of the manuals.
B. Tools are maintained in good working order at all times.
3. Advises Quality controller and Parts Clerk if additional work is required and informs him about job difficulties.
SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED WHEN:
A. The Parts and Body Shop Repairs Coordinator (PBSRC) & Quality Controller is
informed of challenges or when job is completed.
B. Challenges are actioned and resolved in a timely manner.
4.Utilizing the color samples and formulas provided, determines the colors required and prepares paint for the technicians as soon as the order is received.
SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED WHEN:
The paint mixing system (agitator) is initiated every morning for 15 minutes to allow for the mixing of the tints and basic product before use. All standard and sample colours are matched following the formulas standard colour samples. On receipt of a request for paint, the correct colour is determined by using the colour swatches or other colour samples. If adjustments are required, the correct tints are utilized to determine the correct variation and associated formula to ensure colour matching. After preparing the paint, apply a sample of the batch to a test panel, using a spraying method or brush etc., and also compares sample with standard colour on the area to be painted to ensure accurate colour matching. Repeat operation to attain specified shade adjusting according to the sample panel as
required.
All paints are placed in the shaker for the specified period to ensure adequate mixing of tints. Maintains a record of all utilized ingredients and formula sheets noting the vehicle registration and repair order number and adjusting stock accordingly before the month-end. Writes identifying data / apply label on container, and issues paint to the technician for testing before application. Issue the relevant purchase order and bill cost of paint to the relevant repair order at specified prices.
5. Maintains neat and orderly work area.
SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED WHEN
A. Work area is kept in a neat and orderly manner at all times.
B. Items used in the repair of vehicles are disposed of in bins provided
6. Dispenses inventory materials and shop tools when required.
SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED WHEN
A. All personal tools are maintained in good condition at all times.
B. All Shop Tools are cleaned and returned to storeroom after use.
C. Paint & Body Materials are dispensed according to the technician requirements
& accurate records kept as per repair order.
D. Inventory discrepancies are noted and reported the Parts and Body Shop Repairs
Co-Ordinator (PBSRC)
E. Malfunctioning tools and or tools requiring repairs are reported to the Parts and Body
Shop Repairs Co-Ordinator (PBSRC)
7. To participate in Saturday openings, overtime work, special projects and specially assigned tasks when required.
SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED WHEN
A. Saturday openings are adequately staffed to meet customer needs.
B. Projects and specially assigned tasks are completed within deadlines and to required
Standards.
8. Attends all required training sessions and meetings conducted during working hours.
SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED WHEN:
A. Attends and participates in training sessions as required.
B. Attends all meetings as required.
9. To perform any other related duties as directed by the Body Shop Manager.
SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED WHEN:
A. All assignments are carried out to agreed standards.
