We are looking for a Senior Operations Engineer to take ownership of and maintain the company’s reference data and operational technology infrastructure. This position will primarily involve managing security master workflows, harmonizing identifiers, and ensuring the integrity of operational data, working closely with the fund accounting and operations teams. Additionally, the role will contribute to broader operational technology projects spanning Finance, Compliance, and other business areas. The ideal candidate will possess extensive reference data experience in buy-side or sell-side organizations and demonstrate a meticulous, quality-assurance-driven approach.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the ingestion, normalization, tagging, quality assurance, and reconciliation of reference data and securities identifiers (such as Bloomberg identifiers, CUSIP, FIGI, Capital IQ), including updating identifiers reflecting corporate actions, with a focus on equities, futures, and options traded in US and international markets.
- Design and maintain crosswalk and symbology mapping systems that connect instrument, company, issuer, and legal entity data models across both vendor and internal datasets (e.g., security master, company master), ensuring consistent and accurate linking for downstream workflows.
- Oversee the integration of Bloomberg Data License/API and other vendor data feeds, including resolving discrepancies between sources.
- Develop and monitor ETL pipelines supporting operational and reference datasets.
- Establish and maintain processes for corporate actions handling and audit trails to ensure consistent time series data and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with operations and fund accounting teams to guarantee the daily accuracy and reliability of data workflows, including conducting reconciliations.
- Support related operational technology initiatives, such as FinOps, compliance, and alternative data crosswalk projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in reference data management, operations technology, or securities data environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of US and international securities identifiers and data models.
- Required experience with Bloomberg Data License and Bloomberg APIs.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for ETL and data manipulation tasks.
- Familiarity with database systems such as Snowflake, Postgres, or equivalent technologies.
- Strong operational judgment and a keen focus on data accuracy and integrity.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Prior experience in buy-side or sell-side operational environments preferred.
- Knowledge of options, futures, and US corporate securities is advantageous.
- Expertise in corporate actions processing is a plus.
- Experience with order management or trading platforms like FlexTrade or Enfusion is desirable.
