Managing Director - Industrial Technology
Overview
The industrial technology market in Southeast Asia is growing - and our partner is looking for the right leader to capture it. IDM Brands is seeking a Managing Director on their behalf to take full P&L ownership of their Singapore operation, drive commercial expansion across the region, and build the team and partnerships needed to scale the business to its next level.
This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for a commercially driven leader who thrives at the intersection of technical credibility and business development. You will define and execute a regional go-to-market strategy, personally engage with key customers and distributors, and lead a lean, entrepreneurial team across Singapore and Southeast Asia. Key Responsibilities
Own full P&L accountability for the Singapore operation, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management
Define and execute the commercial strategy to develop and grow sales of products and services across Singapore and the wider Southeast Asian region
Lead, coach, and expand a cross-functional team spanning sales, operations, and technical functions
Drive profitable growth across key industries including oil & gas, shipping & marine, critical facilities (data centres, airports, hotels), utilities & water, and selected industrial segments
Identify and capitalise on new market opportunities, strategic partnerships, and customer segments within the industrial technology sector
Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key clients, distributors, and stakeholders across the region
Develop and optimise partner and distributor networks across Southeast Asian markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines
Represent the business externally — at industry events, trade associations, and with government stakeholders — to raise the company's profile and influence
Collaborate with global and regional headquarters on strategy, reporting, and cross-border initiatives
Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and commercial excellence
Proven track record in a senior leadership role (e.g. Managing Director, General Manager, Country Head, or equivalent) within industrial technology, manufacturing, engineering, or a closely related sector
Demonstrated experience with full P&L ownership in an operational leadership capacity
Strong commercial background with a track record of driving revenue growth and developing sales channels for products and/or services
Proven experience building and scaling B2B sales organisations and distributor or partner networks
Deep understanding of Southeast Asian business culture, relationship dynamics, and market nuances — with direct experience working in or across the region
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop diverse, high-performing teams in lean, entrepreneurial environments
Proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) — used regularly in a professional business context
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience in condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, reliability solutions, or asset performance management
- Exposure to industrial software, IoT, or Industry 4.0 environments
- Familiarity with integrated hardware and software solution selling
- Experience working within a global or European matrix organisation
- Established network across Southeast Asian industry, government, or distribution channels
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate business qualification
Base Salary: SGD 130,000 – 200,000 per annum (commensurate with experience)
Performance Bonus: Up to 6 months' salary per annum, based on performance

Retirement Plan: CPF contributions in accordance with Singapore statutory requirements
