Job Description
Working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.
Regular travel across the UK is required.
As Account Director, you will passionately drive revenue growth for our business with existing customers by developing successful and strategic customer relationships over time - capturing increased share of wallet, new testing and consultancy sales opportunities.
You will aim to grow and develop the Eurofins business and our reputation by working with colleagues across the business to ensure we can offer the right and innovative testing solutions to exceed customer expectations.
Job Responsibilities
- Own the development and execution of Eurofins Food & Water Testing UK's pricing strategy to support sustainable growth, profitability, and competitive positioning.
- Own the health of key client relationships including contracting, onboarding, pricing, quoting, project work and troubleshooting.
- Lead pricing decisions for large contracts, frameworks, and multi‑site agreements, balancing commercial competitiveness with operational feasibility and margin protection.
- Monitor market pricing, competitor behaviour, regulatory changes, and customer expectations to inform dynamic pricing adjustments and maintain Eurofins’ leadership position.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Account Managers to grow our existing customer base and support resource elsewhere in the business.
- Personally support the team of Key Account Managers and Account Managers with our largest and international key accounts to ensure a high level of service & client retention.
- Embed a strong performance culture with clear KPIs, CRM discipline, and robust forecasting accuracy.
- Support the team in complex negotiations, contract renewals, and high‑value submissions.
- Review our current customer base to better understand and establish winning formulas for the business that are more sector-specific and competitive in the market.
- Utilise our commercial tools and your business acumen to develop improved insight into our customer testing plans, their volumes/pricing and identify/close the gaps where they exist.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, regulatory changes, and evolving customer needs to define and refine our commercial strategies.
- Collaborate with our other leaders across operations, IT and technical to deliver on the opportunities across our current customer base.
- Work cohesively with Senior Management across the business to maximise sales and develop a strategic focus.
- Acting as the senior commercial point of contact, initiate new ways of working, develop long-term alliances and implement creative ‘added value’ solutions for our customers that deliver significant sales growth and margin attainment.
- Work with the business to improve our service delivery.
- Represent the Commercial team within internal leadership forums, contributing to business planning and investment decisions.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience of business development planning and account management.
- Proven, extensive experience in managing sales people, in account management, customer service and/or in business development roles.
- Proven experience around how to grow a portfolio of customers across different business sectors and evidence of using customer feedback.
- Experience in analysing customer data and identifying additional business opportunities from that analysis.
- Experience in setting and managing customer expectations via service agreements.
- Excellent IT skills to include Excel and Powerpoint.
- Passionate about sales and driving business growth.
- Effective communication skills both written and oral.
- A high level of attention to detail.
