We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect with a strong background in backend engineering and distributed systems to design and drive scalable, high-performance technology solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Java-based ecosystems, microservices architecture, and modern backend development practices, while collaborating closely with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust systems at scale.

In this role, you will be responsible for defining end-to-end solution architecture, guiding development teams, and ensuring that systems are designed with scalability, reliability, and maintainability in mind. You will play a key role in translating complex business requirements into well-structured technical solutions while maintaining high standards of engineering quality.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance solution architectures for backend platforms and distributed systems.
Define and evolve microservices-based architectures using modern backend frameworks and event-driven systems.
Lead architecture discussions and provide technical leadership to backend developers and backend engineers across multiple teams.
Design and develop backend services using Java, Kotlin, or Scala, ensuring maintainable and efficient code.
Build and optimize Spring Boot–based applications for enterprise-scale systems.
Architect and implement event-driven systems using Apache Kafka, enabling reliable data streaming and asynchronous communication between services.
Collaborate with engineering teams to establish architecture standards, design patterns, and development best practices.
Translate business and product requirements into technical architecture diagrams, specifications, and implementation plans.
Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and technical mentoring for backend teams.
Ensure systems are designed for high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
Work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams to align architecture with cloud-native and containerized environments.
Evaluate and introduce new tools, technologies, and frameworks to improve system performance and engineering productivity.

Required Skills & Qualifications

8–18 years of experience in backend development and large-scale system design.
Strong programming expertise in Java, with additional experience in Kotlin or Scala preferred.
Deep understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and service-oriented design principles.
Hands-on experience building backend systems using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
Proven experience implementing event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
Strong understanding of API design, RESTful services, and asynchronous communication patterns.
Experience working as a backend developer or backend engineer in high-scale production environments.
Solid knowledge of system design, architecture patterns, and scalability strategies.
Ability to produce technical architecture documentation and solution diagrams.
Experience working in Agile engineering environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized deployments.
Exposure to high-throughput data systems, streaming architectures, and real-time platforms.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide engineering teams.
