General Manager - Energy & Resource Development
An emerging resource development organisation is seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead the strategic growth of large-scale, long-life resource assets.
Supported by international partnerships, proven technologies, and a long-term investment horizon, the organisation is focused on delivering generational economic and societal impact through responsible energy development. The scope spans the full project lifecycle—from early-stage exploration through to construction, operations, and future expansion.
As General Manager, you will be accountable for defining and executing the organisation’s long-term strategy while building a high-performing, purpose-driven team. You will play a central role in developing major resource assets, establishing organisational culture, and delivering complex projects over the coming decades.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership across all business functions
- Build and scale a multidisciplinary team from early-stage development onward
- Develop and implement organisational structures, recruitment strategies, and retention programs
- Lead project activities including scoping studies, development planning, execution planning, and permitting strategies
- Oversee risk management, stakeholder engagement, and corporate reputation
- Establish and embed a culture centred on safety, accountability, performance, and attention to detail
- Drive long-term project delivery from concept through to operations and future expansion
Essential
- Proven executive leadership experience, with a track record of building and scaling organisations or teams
- Strong ability to balance long-term strategic vision with hands-on execution
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Sound judgment in risk assessment, decision-making, and driving outcomes
- Experience engaging, leading, and developing teams across multiple career stages
- Self-starting, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment
Preferred
Background in resources, energy, or infrastructure sectors
Experience with major capital project development and delivery
Experience with permitting, regulatory engagement, and stakeholder management
Exposure to international partnerships or multi-jurisdictional project structures
Base salary: AUD $300,000 – $350,000
