(THE ROLE)
SAP HCM ABAP Specialist
(RESPONSIBILITIES)
The SAP ABAP Developer will be required to program the client’s programming requirements based on the provided specifications, and to provide system support/ technical knowledge to the project team throughout the project cycle.
- Create technical specifications of programs/ interfaces based on functional specifications provided.
- Implement the client’s requirements using technologies such as ABAP, SAP Script, Business HTML, according to the design documentation and template guidelines utilizing/ creating reusable code that is easily upgradeable/ maintainable.
- Ensure that the programs/ interfaces are Unit Tested including created sufficient test data (such as employee master records) to complete scenario testing.
- Thoroughly document any programs/ interfaces including system documentation (code comments) and online help documentation.
- Support clients through the User Acceptance, Parallel Testing and Go-Live phases.
- Ensure that template guidelines are adhered to.
- Assist with 1st level support by providing support to 1st level support Consultants and client super and end users when required.
- Resolve 2nd and 3rd level support issues logged with the Support Centre within SLA timeframes – specifically investigating issues, identifying cause, designing and implementing solutions, perform sufficient testing and updating required documentation.
- Application of OSS advanced correction notes (code changes only)
- Debug through complex programs to identify errors/ determine reasons for identified problems.
- Adherence to programming guidelines and quality control processes.
- Assisting in designing solutions for programs based on knowledge of system and making recommendations based on best of breed programming methods.
- Creating web based programs using ABAP and JAVA technology.
(REQUIREMENTS)
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Master’s degree in related areas is an advantage.
Appropriate tertiary level education or equivalent industry experience.
5+ years experienced in SAP HR/Payroll Industry.
Experience in the area of SAP interfaces.
Web dynpro knowledge.
Knowledge of support methodologies including use of an issue tracking system
Experience in SAP NetWeaver Portal/ HTML5/SAPUI5 based Web/Mobility solutions.
