We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated US Accountant with 1–4 years of hands-on experience in US taxation and accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US tax return preparation, including individual and business filings, and be proficient in using Drake software. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review US tax returns including Form 1040 (Individual Tax Returns), Form 1065 (Partnership Returns), and Form 1120 (Corporate Tax Returns).
- Handle end-to-end tax preparation processes, including data collection, validation, reconciliation, and final filing.
- Ensure accurate reporting of income, deductions, credits, and compliance with IRS regulations.
- Work on multi-state tax filings and understand state-specific compliance requirements.
- Utilize Drake Tax Software efficiently for tax preparation, e-filing, and documentation management.
- Collaborate with senior accountants and tax managers to resolve complex tax issues and ensure timely deliverables.
- Analyze financial statements and supporting documents to identify discrepancies and optimize tax positions.
- Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all tax filings.
- Stay updated with the latest US tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Assist in responding to IRS notices and client queries related to tax filings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA/CPA Inter preferred).
1–4 years of experience in US accounting and taxation.
Strong hands-on experience with:
Form 1040 (Individual Tax Returns)
Form 1065 (Partnership Tax Returns)
Form 1120 (Corporate Tax Returns)
Practical experience in preparing and reviewing US Tax Returns for individuals and businesses.
Proficiency in Drake Tax Software is mandatory.
Good understanding of US GAAP principles and IRS guidelines.
Strong knowledge of tax concepts including deductions, credits, depreciation, and income classifications.
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis) are a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with US CPA firms or accounting outsourcing companies.
- Exposure to multi-entity or multi-client environments.
- Familiarity with other accounting tools like QuickBooks is an advantage.
