This snapshot describes Trawle’s dataset, not the whole labour market.
Trawle checks public careers pages daily. This view counts open remote listings from verified employer–board relationships, excluding known agencies and withheld jobs. It includes all indexed role types, not just software jobs. It’s a sample of advertised roles, not a census of all remote work.
A listing matches a country through its location or remote region, including worldwide tags. Local matches may still restrict you to a state or city. Office locations and eligibility can share a tag, so always read the original posting.
No location doesn’t mean worldwide: 3,851 listings have no country match in this index. Country counts overlap, and separate postings can describe the same vacancy. These numbers don’t establish work authorization, timezone fit, hiring probability or actual hires.
Each listing counts once per matching country. Employer counts are distinct within each country. Listing percentages use all 42,859 eligible remote listings as the denominator, including 3,851 without a mapped location. Employer percentages use all 3,792 employers in the dataset. “Worldwide” requires an explicit global place tag; it is never inferred from missing data.
Local or regional matches exclude worldwide matches, so the selected country’s two listing counts sum to its total. Colour intensity uses a square-root scale relative to the largest count. Hatching means zero matches or a country outside this dataset; it does not prove that no remote opportunities exist there.
Computed 1 November 2026 (UTC). This timestamp records when the aggregate was generated, not when every employer’s posting was last checked. Live aggregates are cached for up to six hours, so current search results may differ. This is a changing snapshot of our coverage, not a historical hiring trend or a manually reviewed eligibility study.
The CSV includes the dataset mode, computation timestamp, country counts and global denominators for listings and employers. Keep the timestamp with any figures you reuse. The map uses public-domain Natural Earth geometry. Cite “Remote from here, by Trawle” with the snapshot date and a link to this page.
A remote label describes a way of working. The employer’s original posting tells you whether it works from your home.
